Founder and Chief Executive
Shepherd is an experienced founder and executive with over 20 years work experience in the information technology/services industry. He is focused on accelerating the adoption of digital technologies in Africa to improve the human condition on the continent.
Shepherd founded SDscope in 2013 and currently leads strategy, business development, product development and day-to-day operations at SDscope. He has built a mentoring program delivered by experts from around the world to help professionals in Africa develop skills in digital technology and application, built and delivered a hands-on course on artificial intelligence, delivered digitalization and analytics projects from visioning and requirements gathering to implementation and after-sales support, and directed conferences, workshops and speaker events on innovation, emerging trends, disruptive technologies, and entrepreneurship delivered by technology leaders such as IBM, Oracle, SAS and EY.
Prior to found SDscope, Shepherd founded NetAspect Technologies in 2005 where he built the first interactive SMS service/business in Zimbabwe, built and sold enterprise satellite communication solutions and provided general ICT services.
Shepherd started his professional career at TelOne, Zimbabwe's incumbent telecom operator, as a telecommunications engineer. His work included requirements gathering, network design, tendering, project management, implementation, and operations support in the key roles of Transmission Engineer and Satellite Communications Project Manager.
