SDSCOPE MENTORING & COACHING PRIVACY POLICY
This privacy policy explains how Softclick Investments (Private) Limited (“SDscope”, “we”, “us”) obtains, utilizes, shares and safeguards information collected from Mentors, Mentees and visitors to its websites, including without limitation www.sdscope.com and www.sdscope.com/mentoring (each, a “Website,” collectively, the “Websites”).
By visiting our Websites or by becoming an SDscope Mentor or Mentee, you consent to the collection, use and transfer of your personal data according to the terms of this privacy policy.
The Personal Data We Collect From You
SDscope collects personal data directly from you (e.g., where you contact us); in the course of our relationship with you (e.g., if you’re a Mentee, or apply to be a Mentor); when you make your personal data public (e.g., via social or business networking sites); when you visit our Websites; when you register to use any of our Website, or services; when you interact with any third party content or advertising on a Website; or when you visit our offices. We may also obtain information from third parties about you. In addition, SDscope’s Websites may automatically record information when you visit, including your Internet Protocol address and records of your interactions with us, our Mentees, or our Mentors data.
Such data includes your personal details (e.g., your name, biographical information); demographic data; your contact details (e.g., email address, phone number); records of your consents; payment details; information about our Websites (e.g., the type of device you are using); information obtained from third-party background check providers; employment details (where relevant); information about your interactions with our content or advertising; and any ratings or feedback you provide to us or concerning your experience as a Mentor.
Subject to your consent, SDscope may place small files called “cookies” on your device, or read cookies already on your device, when you visit the Websites to record information about your device, your browser and, in some cases, your preferences and browsing habits in order to facilitate your utilization of the Websites and enable us customize your website experience.
How Your Personal Data is Used
We may use your personal data for marketing and providing our services to you; developing, supporting and improving our business; compliance with applicable law; and, in the case of Mentors, to match you with mentoring opportunities, notify you of SDscope developments, process your invoices and administer payments. We may use trusted third parties that utilize your IP addresses or web page request information for our internal analytics purposes and re-targeting for marketing.
How Your Personal Data is Disclosed
We may share your personal data to enforce our agreements; in connection with mentoring opportunities and activities; as necessary to comply with our legal obligations; to protect SDscope’s rights; to comply with applicable industry standards, and in accordance with disaster recovery procedures; with any purchaser of our business; any third party providers of advertising, plugins or content used on our Websites; for the prevention or detection of a crime; with third parties for the purpose of verifying any factual information you provide to us or any consents or approvals that may be needed.
We also share data with certain types of companies, such as cloud computing companies, cloud communications platform as a service (PaaS), web analytics services, and emailing services, for purposes of providing services and marketing our services to potential and existing Mentee and Mentors.
Data Storage and Retention
Personal data provided to SDscope will be processed and stored by us inside the United States and Zimbabwe and will be accessed by our staff and third parties working for us in other jurisdictions for the purposes set forth in this policy or for other purposes subject to your consent.
We take every reasonable step to limit the volume of your personal data that we process to what is necessary, and to ensure that your personal data are erased or rectified if we become aware of inaccuracies.
We will retain your personal data for as long as you remain a Mentee or an employee of a Mentee, a Mentor or as otherwise necessary; as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, comply with applicable industry standards, and in accordance with disaster recovery procedures.
Updating Your Information
SDscope may revise information about you using data obtained from third parties or public sources. You are required to update information you provide to SDscope regularly. You may review the personal information SDscope keeps about you and may ask us to rectify any inaccuracies in your personal information.
Opting Out
In the case of Mentors, you may elect to opt-out as a Mentor of SDscope at any time by providing us with written notice, after we will cease contacting you and cease presenting potential mentoring opportunities.
Updates to the Privacy Policy
SDscope may update this policy from time to time and post such updates to the Websites. The update will become effective upon posting. Your continued use of the Websites will indicate your agreement to such changes.
